THE SPARK: DRIVEN BY PURPOSE

Ignite wasn’t created in a boardroom. It was built from a lifetime of lessons about commitment, discipline, sacrifice, and serving others. Growing up in a military household, I learned early that when you commit to something, you give it everything you have. My parents taught me to work hard, finish what I start, and treat people with dignity, respect, and humility.

Those lessons are at the heart of how I lead Ignite.

I don’t believe I’m better than anyone else, and I certainly don’t have all the answers. I’m still learning and growing every day. I spend countless hours watching, listening, asking questions, continuing my education, and challenging myself to become a better coach and leader. If I expect our athletes to grow, I believe I have a responsibility to grow alongside them.

Every athlete who walks through our doors matters to me. Our young people are the future of this community, and they deserve our time, effort, honesty, and absolute investment. We may teach volleyball, but our purpose reaches far beyond the court. We’re helping young people become confident, resilient, accountable, and prepared for whatever life places in front of them.

Leadership isn’t always easy. Sometimes it requires difficult conversations, hard decisions, and standing firm in what you know is right, even when it would be easier to stay quiet. Truth can be uncomfortable, but real growth rarely happens inside our comfort zones.

My goal has never been to please everyone or pretend to be perfect. My goal is to lead with integrity, remain willing to learn, and serve our athletes and families to the very best of my ability. I will continue showing up, putting in the work, and protecting the values upon which Ignite was built.

Because here, everything is earned, never given. With gratitude and purpose.

A DIRECTOR WITH A MISSION

I’m a proud Wichita native and graduate of Wichita West High School. I was adopted at the age of three and raised in a military family. My father, a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army, taught me early that success is earned through discipline, hard work, and perseverance.

I hold dual master’s degrees in special education, with concentrations in High Incidence and Low Incidence Disabilities, and spent more than 10 years teaching students with emotional and behavioral challenges. That experience shaped my ability to lead with patience, empathy, accountability, and still expect high expectations.

I have coached club volleyball at the 14U and 16U levels and currently serve as the Founder and Director of Wichita Ignite Volleyball Club, LLC. I am also a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). 

At Wichita Ignite, we believe growth happens when athletes are challenged, supported, and held to a high standard. We value truth over comfort, effort over excuses, and character over shortcuts. Our mission is to develop confident, disciplined, and resilient athletes who are prepared not only to compete at a high level, but to succeed in life.

We may not be backed by big names or big budgets, but we continue to build something powerful, a culture rooted in integrity, purpose, and a relentless commitment to excellence. Wichita Ignite is for athletes who are ready to work, grow, and help spark a new era of volleyball in Wichita. One that places us on the map and people want to come see. Honestly, I am tired of the same old standards, Ignite is here to raise the bar!
